International Research Conference on Information Technology Education (IRCITE) 2017


The Philippine Society of Information Technology Educators - Region 3 (PSITE) will be hosting the International Research Conference on Information Technology Education (IRCITE) 2017 on February 2 and 3, 2017 at Wesleyan University, Mabini Street Extension, Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija, Philippines.  The theme of the event is “Promoting Research, Creative Work, and Innovation”.


PSITE, being the nation’s largest professional IT organization, hosts from time to time, several educational technology conventions and conferences. It is an organization with great diversity that supports members and affiliates with an array of professional learning and collaborative networking opportunities as they face the challenge of innovation and transforming education.



The International Research Conference on Information Technology Education (IRCITE) 2017 is a two-day event which aims to engage the students and faculty members in constructive dialogue on critical issues in IT and other related topics, promote innovation, develop leadership qualities, teamwork, and camaraderie.  At least 2,000+ students and faculty members from different schools in the region and international will convene along with young professionals, leaders, and advocates. 




Responding to the call in promoting interdisciplinary works, IRCITE 2017 welcomes research and reports of practices that acknowledge diverse discipline, abilities, cultures and societies and that address both the technical and social aspects of IT.  This year’s conference aims to showcase the very best interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research.  Participants must be faculty member and students pursuing an academic degree at the time of submission.  There are four categories in this area 1) graduate 2) undergraduate and 3) interdisciplinary /multidisciplinary 4) poster presentation.  A cash prize is awarded to the top winners in each category plus all accepted papers have the chance to be chosen for scholarship and funding from the partner industries and academic institutions.

uthors are invited to submit original, unpublished full research papers for presentation at http://goo.gl/j93Nyg.  An Easychair account is required in order to submit your papers.


The Conference Review Policy requires that each submitted paper will be peer-reviewed and accepted by at least two reviewers for inclusion in the conference program and CD-ROM proceedings. At least an author of each accepted paper is required to register and attend the conference to present.


The conference CD-ROM will contain the full paper and presentation slides of all research papers presented and will be distributed to all conference participants.


All manuscripts and presentation slides must be submitted electronically, in PDF and word document forms using the ACM templates available at https://www.acm.org/binaries/content/assets/publications/article-templates/pubform.docx.




The full papers are due on December 23, 2016. Authors of accepted papers will be notified on January 9, 2017 via e-mail. The final version of the paper is due on January 20, 2017. A maximum of fifteen pages, including an abstract of up to 200 words will be allowed for each accepted paper in the proceedings.

Note: The conference is a per day registration. 




The author who will present the accepted paper or accepted poster may avail of a discounted rate of PHP 700.00 or USD 150 even during the on-site registration. The author should present a printout of the acceptance letter sent by Secretariat. For papers with multiple authors and multiple presenters, only one of the presenters can avail of the discount.  All competitors can avail of the early bird rate.

Authors and participants who wish to attend the two-day event are responsible for their travel and living expenses. A list of hotels and inns located near the conference venue with the corresponding rates and contact details will be provided in a separate document.

However, we encourage participants to contact the local organizers if PSITE can do prior arrangements regarding room assignments.
